Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture / 鴨川(京都府京都市)
Hello everyone, this is Ronny ^^/
It has been a long time since I have posted.
Today I would like to introduce the charm of the Kamo River, a large river that crosses the city of Kyoto from north to south, which has become the center of tourism in Japan!!
What is Kamo River
鴨川
Kamo (鴨) means duck in English, and as the name suggests, ducks often gather in this river (川). Cherry blossoms in spring, Noryo-doko in summer, autumn leaves in fall, and snowy landscapes in winter. No matter what season you visit, you can feel the beauty of nature and the uniqueness of Kyoto. There is a well-maintained promenade along the Kamo River where locals enjoy jogging and strolling. Walking along the promenade in the morning or in the evening, you can enjoy a peaceful time that will cleanse your mind.

Noryo-Doko
“Noryo-Yuka” is one of Kyoto’s most popular summer traditions. It is a special terrace seating set up along the Kamo River by restaurants and ryotei (traditional Japanese-style restaurants) and is a limited experience from May to October (Kyoto City Tourism Association 2025).

Kyoto in summer is very hot, but the greatest attraction is that you can enjoy your meal while feeling the murmuring of the Kamo River and the cool breeze. You can enjoy a tasteful Kyoto evening while savoring elegant course meals featuring Kyoto cuisine and Japanese dishes.
Night lights and views are especially popular from dusk to night. When the lights are turned on, the atmosphere is magical and photo-worthy.
Where is Kamo River??
You can reach the river on foot from Kyoto Station. From there, you can take a leisurely walk north and south.
Comment I really appreciate your comments ^^
