Arakurayama Sengen Park | Mt. Fuji

Tokai

Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi / 新倉山浅間公園(山梨県富士吉田市)

Arakurayama Sengen Park is the perfect place to enjoy Mt Fuji at close range. From the observatory in the park, you can get a realistic impression of the grandeur of Mt Fuji, as if it were looming right in front of you. On a clear day, the beautiful sight of Mt Fuji will stand out amidst the lush greenery of the natural surroundings.

As you stroll through the park, you will come across a five-storey pagoda built in 1642. This five-storey pagoda is approximately 26 metres high and is truly a masterpiece of traditional Japanese architecture. The colourful decoration on each layer of the pagoda is like a work of art. Walking along the approach and looking up at the five-storey pagoda, you feel as if you have transcended time and space.

The five-storey pagoda is surrounded by a Japanese-style garden with a pond garden. The elegant scenery of green trees and clear ponds will calm the hearts of visitors.

This park is truly a place of unique Japanese charm, where the harmony between the spectacular view of Mt Fuji, traditional buildings and nature is woven together. Fuji the best of Japanese culture, is a place that is highly recommended for foreign visitors.

Why did I visit there?

This is Because…

I visited here after seeing the Oshino Hakkai.

I thought April was the best time to visit as it is the peak time to see the cherry blossoms! I knew I wasn’t wrong, and am glad I went.
